When I was 23 years old, I was driving home to my wife, son and newborn daughter when my car was struck by a driver who had lost control on the icy road. The accident nearly cost me my life. I had severe breaks in both legs and one arm, in addition to to numerous other injuries. It was just under a year before I could walk on my own. For nearly a decade, I lived with chronic pain and a limited range of mobility. I thought that was just what the rest of my life would look like. Hugh and Kai talked me into trying CrossFit in 2015. I was pretty reluctant- I didn't think it was something I would be able to enjoy. As I educated myself on all the components of CrossFit, and how to apply them to myself, I began to get excited about the possibilities. My mobility and strength increased, my pain is reduced greatly. I'm doing so many things I never thought would be possible for me.
Motivation & Passion
I love the idea of working with people who are rehabbing from injury, illness, or accidents. I want to help them experience the healing benefits of CrossFit. My wife and kids do CrossFit, making it a family experience is also a fun part of my job.
